Amanda Seyfried, co-star of In Time with Justin Timberlake, talks to Metro about the idea of time as currency and what she would do if she had one day to live.

In Time is set in the future but  it’s about the haves and the  have-nots – did you consider this subject appropriate at the moment?

It’s right on point with what we are struggling with in our economy. It’s almost like [writer/director] Andrew Niccol is psychic. There are just so many ideas there that make so much sense and are relevant in where we live and what we’re doing. In the movie, the rich and the poor are very segregated and it looks like we are getting to that same situation in real life.

Did the idea of time as a currency make you think how you are using your own time?

I thought about it a lot. I try not to sleep so much now [laughs] because I really feel like  I am wasting my time. I think it’s important to make time for myself. When I have time off, I like to go horse riding or do my singing.  I make lists and I am very organised. Even if I am watching TV, I am painting or knitting at the same time.

It’s quite a physical role – did you have to get in shape?

I exercise all the time. I do boxing when I can. I take ballet and various boot camp classes and I work out with my trainer every day. If I can’t work out for some reason, I try to not eat so much sugar but it’s hard. I think the healthiest thing to do when you’re trying to maintain some kind of athletic shape is to move as much as you can per day.

Your In Time co-star is Justin Timberlake. Were you a fan before you met him?

When I was 13, I was obsessed with boy bands. I don’t think he knows I listened to ’N Sync all the time. One day at work, a thing he said reminded me of something ’N Sync sang on their Christmas album. I sing songs under my breath all the time and I started singing it out loud. I don’t think he heard it, thankfully. He would serenade us. Not deliberately but I think it was just stuff he had in his head. He sang a lot of Cee Lo Green.

If you had one day to live, how would you spend it?

I would gather all my best friends and my family. If we were on horses, riding into the sunset, that would be nice, too. And I would have to bring my dog. I can’t live without him. He goes everywhere with me. He’s better than a husband could ever be.

It’s been seven years since “Mean Girls” hit theatres in 2004, but Amanda Seyfried remembers working with Rachel McAdams like it was yesterday. The actress recalls her “Mean Girls” experience on the new episode of Diablo Cody’s Web series “Red Band Trailer.”

So, was McAdams as mean as her onscreen character, queen bee Regina George?

“It felt like she was kind of like a big sister,” Seyfried says in the episode, which airs today. “She’s awesome.”

However, Seyfried couldn’t help making a small dig at her co-star, joking about their age difference. (McAdams is seven years older.) “I think she was, like, 54 at that point. No, I’m serious, she was much, she was like 10 years older than us,” said Seyfried. Read full article.

SHE won admiration from film critics for her performance in Mamma Mia! but Amanda Seyfried says she’s too shy to sing in public.

The 25-year-old, who showed off her pins at the London premiere of her new film In Time at the Curzon cinema in Mayfair, told Day & Night that working with singer-turned-actor Justin Timberlake was a bonus: “I love Justin. I’ve known him for a while. He sings a lot – he was singing Cee Lo Green’s songs on set. I didn’t sing around him though. Singing makes me nervous.”

Amanda Seyfried was gung-ho to step into the science fiction thriller “In Time,” and the 25-year-old actress said she could relate to the film’s theme of fleeting time.

“I didn’t know about money, didn’t grow up in the lap of luxury,” Seyfried told OnTheRedCarpet.com in a recent interview. “You know when you are young, just talking about time, it feels like forever – there’s just so much time to live. And now it feels like I’m deplete of time, but a little more money is fun.”

“In Time” takes place in the future, where the human aging gene has been turned off and to avoid overpopulation, people use time as currency. In this world, the rich can live forever and when a young man (Timberlake) inherits a fortune of time, he ends up fighting against the corrupt police force known as “time keepers.”

Seyfried’s character gets taken hostage and ends up running from her family and the time keepers who’re trying to take out Timberlake’s Will Salas character. The film also stars Olivia Wilde as Timberlake’s mother and Matt Bomer as the man who gives his time to Salas.

“You need to see this movie because it’s an exciting sci fi futuristic thrill ride,” Seyfried said. “It’s also important to be reminded of what’s really going on in this world and how it relates to our world and god, I don’t know, we’re all kind of running out of time, so if you want to spend it wisely you’ve got to see it.”

The actress has reportedly split for Ryan Phillippe after four months of dating, though neither actor has confirmed the news.

Seyfried began her on-screen career around 2000, starring in the soap operas “As the World Turns” and “All My Children.” Her breakout role came in the form of Karen, a ditzy high school clique member with a heart of gold, in the teen comedy movie “Mean Girls,” which starred Lindsay Lohan.

Seyfried later went on to star in television shows such as “Veronica Mars” and “Big Love” and appeared in the movies “Mamma Mia!” and “Letters to Juliet.” She recently appeared in the thriller retelling of the Brothers Grimm, “Red Riding Hood.”

“In Time” opened in theaters on October 28, watch a trailer below.

Actress Amanda Seyfried, 25, dreams that one day she would have her won husband and babies. But even though she is already imagining how that would be like, she says that at the moment, she is not planning on it, US Weekly reports.

In a recent interview to British Look magazine, Amanda Seyfried opened up about her plans of motherhood. “I can’t wait to have kids“, she says, but at the same time “I have to keep myself in check”. The “In Time” star adds that she will not be having a baby “any time soon!” so, until motherhood kicks in, Amanda will enjoy spending time with children and upgrading her mommy skills. “I love spending time with babies and daydreaming what it’s going to be like for me”. That’s a good start!

Until she’ll have her own offspring, Amanda experiments childcare with her dog, Finn. “[He] is my baby”, she said. “I treat him like a child! I think this is easier for now”.
At the moment, Amanda Seyfried is dating real estate exec Andrew Joblon. In the past she has dated Swedish actor Alexander Skarsgard and British actor Dominic Cooper.
